Thanks, Bill, for the news about Luders racing in San Diego and a report of
activity at the Southern Yacht Club. It is good to hear that that fleet
survived Katrina and will remain active.

Luders have long been hauled on Mount Desert Island, Maine. On Thanksgiving
Saturday, two Luders skippers participated in the MDI - Community Sailing
Center frostbite races. Glass Bullseyes are used. There was no visible wind
and occasional snow sprinkles. The first race was cancelled as the
participants were unable to reach the first mark. Winner of the second and
final race was Sydney Rockefeller with this writer second and Lawrence
DeMilner third. A poopy end to the season as participants drifted slowly
back to the MDI-CSC floats. The center is managed by Luders owner, Glenn
Squires.

One of our long-gone wood Luders will be returned to home waters this spring
after a lengthy hiatus in Maryland and other places. This is very good news
indeed. Likely more specific information will be made later. The boat will
be actively raced.

Much appreciate your report. Thanks..
